Industrial Systems Institute

The Industrial Systems Institute (ISI) is a leading institute conducting both basic research and exploratory development on Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for the Greek and European industry. It was established in Patras, Greece, on February 1998 and currently operates under the auspices of the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation of the Greek Ministry of Development. ISI is one of the four research institutes of the Athena Research Center.

The focus of ISI is on innovative technologies for industrial operations and enterprise environments, with its prime concern towards innovation, growth, and competitiveness of the Greek industry. ISI is active in the following emerging areas of applied research:

› Cyber-physical Systems and Industrial IoT

› Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing

› Connected and autonomous vehicles,

› Cybersecurity and protection of cyber-physical and industrial systems,

› 5G/6G networks and communications

› Smart cities, Circular Economy and Sustainability

› Advanced Materials and structures

› Digital Health and Well-Being.

Computer Technology Institute & Press “Diophantus”

The Computer Technology Institute and Press “DIOPHANTUS” (CTI) was founded in 1985 as the “Computer Technology Institute” with its headquarters in Patras, as a Non-Profit Private Legal Entity, supervised by the General Secretariat of Research and Technology, (Presidential Decree 9/1985). Under the new law 3966/2011 its name was changed to Computer Technology Institute and Press “DIOPHANTUS”, was established as the technological pillar supporting ICT in education in Greece, as well as the publishing body of Greek school textbooks and electronic educational material. CTI is also responsible for the administration of the Greek School Network, the largest user network in Greece.
